Here we are in the last week of June and there is still no tropical cyclone threat to South Florida. I certainly don’t hear anyone complaining.
This is a good time to clear up a misperception. Many people think it is too late to get hurricane shutters because we are already into the hurricane season.
But I called a couple of large shutter companies today and was assured that the turn-around time to get hurricane shutters installed is actually pretty short. I don’t know if the lack of sales is due to the state of the economy or people’s hurricane memories being short, but I’m told that the supply of various kinds of shutters from manufacturers is in good shape.
This seems like a good time to at least consider hurricane shutter protection.
It is important to keep the wind out of your house during a hurricane and it is good that there are several types of window and door protection now available. Make sure that you do your homework on the product and the contractor you choose.
